fun run.

The girls participated in their first race this weekend. They had a school fun run, and I think they both had some fun! We sure did watching them!! We headed out early, picked up Grandma and headed to their school with lots of other kids.
Grace and Greg going to the "stretching" area the diaper dash! it was a BIG event as you can see by all the observers!Greg giving the girls a pep talk at the start line :) SWEET Isabel. So proud of herself...you see Greg right behind her.
Grace took off ahead of them!
my sweet girls with their medals!
Isabel so proud. Grace still taking it all in.
FUN morning and so well organized! We are SO proud of the girls.
And we are LOVING their school so far...Greg and I are loving it a little more than the girls, but we are making baby steps...that's what the teachers keep promising me at least :)

Disney on ice!

We took the girls to see Disney on ice a few weekends ago. We have been talking and talking and talking about this for a few months. Needless to say...there was HUGE excitement to see the princesses!!!!!!
lots of waving...
lots of smiles...
lots of singing by Isabel!true wonder.
true excitement.
true magic.

wedding fun

so as those of you that were there know, i tried to "document" the whole weekend. my girls made it tricky to get everything i wanted, as they much rathered that i talk to only them, dance with only them, and not pay any attention to laura what so ever (by the way, i must say there is only one other couple i know - doug and britt - who would show such ease when their nieces actually ran in front of their actual ceremony to get to me!)
if you can't tell the weekend was amazing fun. thank you SO much to the hartman family for a GREAT rehearsal dinner, for being such an awesome and wonderful family. may we have many more fun times to "document" together! and to my parents...what a fun, fun time. mom and laur, you thought of everything, and it was just perfect. and mom, you did what few other mothers of the brides have done...got up in the middle of your own daughters wedding to tend to your sweet, darling grand daughters. oh how we love them :)

WARNING...THIS IS LONG!!! VERY, VERY LONG... (I have attached the link for those of you who are still interested in seeing it, since for some reason it didn't work the way I had it! Sorry about that!)

So welcome to our family Doug!!!! We could not be happier for you and laur. We love you both and can't wait to "document" our next time together :)

crazy waves

The next several posts will be Laura and Doug's wedding weekend last weekend in Michigan. I did lots of documenting from the weekend :) I tried to capture a little bit of everything. I must say, my girls did make it a little difficult at times and I didn't get as much as I would have liked, or as many people, but this is a good overview. It was an AMAZING weekend, full of fun times with family and friends, laughter, and lots of love.

We started out the morning Friday with a visit to the beach...just a short walk down the road from where my Aunt Sue, Uncle Rolly, Debbie and Sarah and their families were staying!
(I love that the girls are walking exactly in sync with each other!)
the beach was CRAZY!!
it looked more like we were at the ocean!!
CRAZY wind and CRAZY waves!!!!!!

BEAUTIFUL!

lunch

On Friday morning/afternoon, my parents were nice enough to watch the girls so I could hang out with Doug, Britt, Laura and Doug's mom and grandma! SO much fun to shop, walk around and have some lunch...such a special time that I was able to have with them!!

bowling

Friday night after a great dinner with everyone who was already in town and beautiful sunset, we headed out for some beer and bowling. Not at all planned, but SO much fun!!

Laura and Greg...I think they had both just gotten a strike!

And Laura and Kristy (who my girls ADORE!! and we now have a little person by the name of Kristy :)

Laura and Rob

getting pretty!

Saturday morning all the girls in the wedding went and got our nails done, including Grace and Isabel. This was their first "real" manicure, and boy are we in trouble. They LOVED it, and Isabel asked if we could come back as we were leaving. Hopefully she will forget by the time we got back to see Gigi and Papa!!

Isabel was sitting in the chair as Grace pretended to fix her nails.

The girls were SO good and sat very still when it was finally their turn.

post rehersal...

after the very windy and cold rehearsal and WONDERFUL dinner, a group of us headed back to my parents (though most of us that headed back did so because we were staying there :)
more talking, laughing, telling stories and getting ready for the big day!!

first day!

These were taken this morning before we left for school. I had intended on getting pictures of them in their classroom again, but once we got their, my main goal was getting out!

The girls had a great day (much to my surprise!!). Just a few sad times from Grace...Isabel told me all about it. A huge advantage of twins...they told me what each other did. I found out LOTS more than I would have had they gone alone!!
The looked like such big girls, with their little backpacks on. I was so proud of them. As happy as I am that they are starting preschool, it makes me a little sad too. Just sad that they are growing up...way too fast! But I am so excited for them and how much fun they will have!!
As I said before, they are going to the same preschool Greg went to when he was little. As Greg says, they are legacy's :) We could not be more happy with the teachers, the parents we have met, and the program as a whole. I am excited to see what happens when we go back next week.

school days

We have been talking and talking and talking about school around here for some time. Reading books about school, listening to the message their teacher left us, carrying around the pictures the teachers sent them. Finally, last Thursday, we went to school!! It was new family playground day. We got to see their classroom, meet their teachers, and see their cool playground!! Greg went to school the same preschool when he was little and said it smelled the same as he remembered it!
Yesterday was their first day, but parents stayed. I attempted pictures, and as you can see, Grace and Iz did not disappoint...silly faces!!
Crazy Gracie!

Silly Izzy!

mommy behind them crying
(not really, but I thought about it!!)

The girls didn't waste any time. They started a project and got paint all over themselves right away!! They LOVED all the art stuff, babies, dress up, and kitchen things. They said they didn't really like the boy things.
