bedtime fun for some!

We have been working VERY hard at NOT laying with the girls at bedtime. Yep, a not so great habit we got into when the girls started sleeping in their bed (so yep, quiet a long time now). But we are working hard! Grace is now scared (or scaried!) of everything, which sometimes makes it a little more tricky, but for goodness sake! They have each other!!!!

So the other night, I walked out proud. Nap time I didn't lay with them. And bedtime...they went down with no peeps!! GREAT day!

Greg passed the girls room to get something in the back, came back up, and said "you should see your girls." And so proud, I thought, yep, they are pretty sweet when they are cuddling together. But no, "All the blankets, the pillows, and a little head popping up and giggling is what is on the floor." So we let them giggle (and laugh at each other! which they are doing SO much of with these days!!) and play some more and then I went in and this is what I saw...

little stinkers.
(that is Grace so proud of what they had done!!)
Round two that night...after convincing them it was really time to go to bed, and they couldn't sleep on the floor in "mine place!" as Grace kept telling me, they went right to sleep.
And I was still pretty happy. Still no laying with them!

sweet and silly

Grace!
smiling her sweet smile!

and looking SO grown up!!
and then their is Isabel
Sweet, sweet Isabel.
ALWAYS a mess.
ALWAYS silly.
But SO, SO sweet!!!!!!!

my helpers!

the girls have been big helpers these days.
they love to put things on the floor and vaccum them up!
such big helpers!!
Isabel uses the lawn mower and is like always, very fancy as she does it!

Grace has the real thing!

wands

we are VERY much into princesses here these days. and Isabel has started making her own wands. out of any paper she can find. little wands, big wands, she makes wands out of any paper she can find. so needless to say, we have LOTS of them around here right now. she put some in a teapot yesterday, put the teapot in a little bag and took them with us...just in case she needed a little magic i guess!
here she is showing off some wands she made last night.
sweet, cute girl.
with such a HUGE imagination!!

Family date day!

We had a fun Valentines day with the girls. Here they are wild hair and all looking at their valentine goodies yesterday morning.
Grace had to look at everything.
Isabel went straign for the necklaces and Kleenex. She LOVES to blow her nose!!
Then we took the girls to their first movie(and it was Gregs and my first movie since we thought we were having ONE baby...so a LONG time! Pathetic, we know!) But it was so fun!! We saw the Princess and the Frog. Very cute, and perfect for them. I was a little nervous, but it was even better than I expected. Isabel loved it, other than when she got her foot caught in the seat and (understandably) screamed. And Grace was a little more antsy (which I thought she would be) and had to talk about the movie the whole time. VERY sweet and funny.
Here they are before the movie, very excited!

Isabel "smiling" for me.
and Grace trying to smile but too interested in what was going on around her
(and the popcorn!)
A day full of fun and love!

tonight...

we did not pose them
this is how they were when we went in to check on them!!!
twins.
i think it is crazy and amazing.
i mean seriously!!
complete opposite!!

we have been...

very
very
very
sick
(but not sick enough to at least try to dress like a princess!!)

It is never easy when the girls are sick...but it always makes me even more thankful for their health. Yes, strange to be even more thankful when they are sick, but I am. Working with such sick kids everyday makes me ALWAYS thankful for our girls health. ALWAYS. We had 8 days of HIGH fevers, lots of kleenex, lot of tylenol and motrin, a very tired daddy and mommy and some very, very sad babies, and the end result was 4 ear infections and a nasty cough. Not fun at all, but so many kids and parents I see every day deal with these things and so much worse every single day. Fevers and pain and the unknown of what is causing it. So as much as it sucks when they are sick, I try to keep it in perspective. And remember to be thankful.

Omaha

The girls, my mom and I went to visit Laura and Doug and checked out their new city last weekend. I was a few days before Laura's birthday so what better way to celebrate with her!! Before we left the girls and I made a cake for her. They are quite the little cooks and LOVE to help whenever they can!!
Laura and Doug
There isn't too much to do in Omaha when it is freezing cold, but we were able to enjoy the GREAT zoo. Yep, most of it was indoors, and we had a great time. Didn't even get through the whole thing, so we'll have to go back.
The girls when I asked them to look so I could take their picture.

The penguins...Isabel loved them!

our sweet Grace
We stayed at a great hotel, and the girls found a fun place to play...the armoire.
We sang to Laura and enjoyed the cake a few times :)
The girls will be disappointed when we visit again and Aunt Laura's house doesn't have a swimming pool, cool elevator and a cook downstairs :) We were leaving and they kept saying bye Laura's house! She didn't even stay there with us. Sweet girls.
A long drive, but the girls were MUCH better than I ever expected (I was VERY nervous about driving that far with them...hard age to keep them entertained for long confined! Thank goodness for Sleeping Beauty!!!!!) It was great to spend time with Laura and Doug. We can't wait to visit again soon!! Happy birthday Aura!!!!! :)
